This past weekend, I had the pleasure of hosting my very first “Coffee & Conversations” meet and greet at Elitist Café in South Orange, a proud woman-owned, minority-owned small business right in the heart of District 3.

The purpose of this gathering was simple but meaningful: to create a welcoming space where residents of South Orange could come out, grab a cup of coffee, and connect with me directly. I believe that leadership starts with listening, and this event was an opportunity to do just that.

Throughout the morning, I had the chance to meet neighbors, hear their concerns, and talk about the issues that matter most to them, including walkability, management of county roads, and affordability. These conversations are critical in shaping a vision that truly reflects the needs of the people I hope to represent.

Hosting this event at Elitist Café was especially important to me. Supporting small, local businesses, particularly those owned by women and people of color, is essential to building a stronger, more equitable local economy. Spaces like this are the backbone of our community, and I’m proud to uplift them through my campaign.

To everyone who came out, thank you for your time, your energy, and your thoughtful conversations. If you weren’t able to attend this one, don’t worry — this is just the beginning. I look forward to continuing this series across our district and hope to see you at the next Coffee & Conversations event on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Inner City Cafe in Orange.

Together, we’re building a campaign rooted in community, connection, and purpose.
