Rain or Shine: Why Knocking on Doors Still Matters

There’s something powerful about showing up.
This campaign isn’t just about speeches, mailers, or social media posts—it’s about people. It’s about stepping onto sidewalks, knocking on doors, and having real conversations with neighbors about what matters most in their lives. And that work doesn’t stop when the weather turns.
Rain or shine, we lace up our sneakers and head out into the community because democracy doesn’t wait for perfect conditions—and neither do we.
Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege of meeting residents from all walks of life. Parents juggling work and childcare. Seniors worried about rising costs. Young people energized but looking for leadership that listens. Each door we knock on represents a story, a concern, a hope for something better.
And sometimes, those moments come full circle.
We’ve met neighbors who received a call from our volunteer phone bank just the day before—turning a conversation over the phone into a handshake at their doorstep. That’s what real organizing looks like. That’s what building trust looks like.
Because at the heart of this campaign is a simple belief: people power is political power.
When we meet voters where they are, on their porches, in their neighborhoods, at their apartment doors, we’re not just asking for their vote. We’re inviting them into a movement. A movement rooted in listening, in showing up, and in fighting for a community that works for everyone.
This is the work. It’s not always easy. It’s not always comfortable. But it’s always worth it.
Every conversation matters. Every door matters. Every voter matters.
So whether it’s raining or the sun is shining, we’ll keep going.
Because this campaign is about YOU.
