Taking Our Campaign to the Doors: Connecting with Voters Across East Orange

As Election Day approaches, I am continuing to my campaign for District 3 Essex County Commissioner directly to the people, connecting with residents throughout East Orange and encouraging voters to make their voices heard on November 3, 2026.

Over the past several days, the campaign has been on the ground in both the Fifth Ward and Second Ward, engaging residents in meaningful conversations about their concerns, their priorities, and the future of Essex County.

During our campaign canvass in East Orange’s Second Ward, we were joined by Councilman Sameed Monk, Christopher Awe, and District Leaders Denzel Turner and Rhabi Wright to encourage residents to participate in the upcoming election.

Throughout the canvass, the team connected with residents, shared information about the campaign, and spoke with community members who expressed encouragement and support for my candidacy. These conversations reflect the importance of meeting people where they are, listening to their concerns, and building relationships that extend beyond Election Day. For me, campaigning is about more than asking for votes. It is about understanding the experiences of the people she hopes to represent and remaining connected to the communities that make Essex County strong.

From East Orange to Orange, South Orange, and Newark’s West Ward, my campaign is grounded in a simple principle: public service begins with listening. As a member of the East Orange Board of Education and a public servant, I understand that effective leadership requires engagement, accountability, and a commitment to the people most affected by government decisions.

Every conversation at the door is an opportunity to hear directly from residents and reaffirm the importance of representation that reflects the needs and aspirations of the community.

With Election Day approaching on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, I am encouraging every eligible voter to make a plan to cast their ballot. New Jersey voters can choose from three voting methods:

  • Vote by mail: Complete your ballot and follow the return instructions. Ballots may be returned by mail, to an official secure ballot drop box, or directly to the County Clerk’s office by the November 3rd deadline.

  • Vote early in person: Early voting runs from Saturday, October 24, through Sunday, November 1, 2026. Essex County voters can find designated locations and operating hours through the state's official election website.

  • Vote on Election Day: Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 3. Voters should confirm their assigned polling location before heading out.

Visit Vote.NJ.gov for official voting information, early voting locations, polling places, and vote-by-mail guidance.

Make your plan to vote on November 3. Our communities deserve a voice in the future of Essex County.
