Early Voting in New Jersey
New Jersey gives registered voters the flexibility to cast their ballot in person before Election Day (Tuesday, November 3, 2026). In-person early voting allows you to visit any designated early voting location in Essex county, choose a day that fits your schedule, and vote using a voting machine, and no appointment is necessary.
For the 2026 General Election, in-person early voting will take place between Saturday, October 24, 2026, through Sunday, November 1, 2026. Early voting locations will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Sunday from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
You do not have to wait until Election Day to make your voice heard. Whether you have a busy work schedule, family responsibilities, travel plans, or simply prefer to vote ahead of time, early voting provides another convenient option to make your voice heard.
Before you go, check the designated early voting locations in your county and choose the location and day that work best for you. Remember, early voting locations are different from your regular Election Day polling place, and New Jersey law allows voters to vote at any designated early voting location within their county.
