Connecting with Voters in East Orange’s 5th Ward: Over 150 Doors and Counting
Every door is an opportunity to listen, connect, and earn the trust of the people we seek to serve. I was grateful to be back in the community, door knocking in East Orange’s 5th Ward alongside Councilwoman Alicia Holman, Latifah, and my incredible campaign team. Together, we knocked on more than 150 doors, connecting with voters, listening to residents, and sharing our vision for the future of Essex County.
For me, campaigning has always been about more than yard signs, mailers, or social media posts. It is about showing up, having meaningful conversations, understanding the concerns of our neighbors, and making sure residents know their voices matter. From economic opportunity and public safety to the quality of life in our neighborhoods, these conversations help reinforce why local leadership must remain connected to the people it serves.
I am especially grateful to Councilwoman Alicia Holman, Latifah, and every member of my campaign team who continues to dedicate their time and energy to this effort. Grassroots campaigning takes commitment, and every person who joins us in knocking on doors helps bring our message directly to the community.
With Election Day approaching, we are also reminding voters that there are several ways to make their voices heard in New Jersey’s 2026 general election.

I believe that effective leadership begins with listening. As a daughter of this community and a candidate for Essex County Commissioner in District 3, I am committed to earning the trust of residents in East Orange, Orange, South Orange, and Newark’s West Ward. Our campaign is working hard because every vote matters, every neighborhood deserves to be heard, and every resident deserves a county government that works for them.
Thank you to everyone who opened their doors, shared their thoughts, and welcomed our team into their neighborhoods. And thank you to the volunteers who continue to put in the work, one conversation at a time. We have more doors to knock, more neighbors to reach, and more votes to earn. Let's keep moving forward together! Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Make your plan to vote!
