One Door, One Conversation at a Time: Connecting with Voters in East Orange’s 3rd Ward

Today I joined East Orange Councilman Berg Leneus, my at-large running mate Christine McGrath, and my dedicated campaign team to knock on doors throughout East Orange’s 3rd Ward as we continue our campaign for Essex County Commissioner, District 3.

As we approach Election Day, our mission remains simple: show up, listen to our neighbors, share our vision, and earn the trust and support of voters across the district.

There is something special about connecting with residents at their front doors. These conversations give us the opportunity to hear directly from the people we hope to serve, learn more about the issues affecting their families, and discuss how local government can make a meaningful difference in their everyday lives.

Our campaign is powered by people who believe that democracy is not a spectator sport. It requires participation, commitment, and a willingness to meet people where they are. We are doing the work one door, one conversation, and one neighborhood at a time.

span>As the Democratic nominee for Essex County Commissioner in District 3, I understand that earning the opportunity to serve is a responsibility I must take seriously. I am committed to listening to residents throughout East Orange, Orange, South Orange, and Newark’s West Ward because every community deserves a voice in the decisions that affect its future.

Early voting begins today, Saturday, October 24, and continues through Sunday, November 1. There are multiple ways to make your voice heard in this year’s general election, and I encourage every eligible voter to choose the option that works best for them.

As we enter the final stretch of this campaign, I am reminded that the strength of our democracy lies in the people who participate in it. Whether we are talking with a neighbor on their front porch, meeting residents at a community event, or helping someone understand their voting options, every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen our connection to one another.

To everyone who has opened their door, shared their concerns, volunteered with our team, encouraged a neighbor to vote, or supported our campaign in any way: thank you. Your time, your voice, and your trust mean so much to me.

Now, I am asking you to take the next step. Make your plan to vote, encourage your family and friends to participate, and help us spread the word throughout our communities. I am asking for your support in unions for me and my colleagues in Line B.

Let’s make our voices heard. Let’s show up for our neighborhoods. And let’s move Essex County forward, together.
