Knocking Every Door, Reaching Every Neighbor in East Orange

Yesterday, I spent the afternoon knocking on doors at the Executive House Apartments in the First Ward of East Orange alongside Elena and First Ward District Leader Khabeerah. As we continue our campaign across district 3, moments like these remind me why direct community engagement matters so much.

Executive House is home to hundreds of residents, families, seniors, and working people whose voices deserve to be heard. Apartment buildings are often places where campaigns can overlook residents, but our campaign is committed to reaching every single person, in every neighborhood, on every block, and in every building throughout East Orange.

At each door, we had meaningful conversations with residents about the issues impacting their daily lives — from housing and public safety to affordability, youth opportunities, and community investment. More importantly, we listened. People want leaders who are present, accessible, and willing to meet them where they are.

I am deeply grateful to Elena and District Leader Khabeerah for walking with me and helping connect with our neighbors in the First Ward. Grassroots organizing is powered by community, and every conversation brings us one step closer to building a stronger and more united East Orange.

Our work continues, and we will keep showing up, knocking doors, and engaging residents across every part of our city. Election Day is tomorrow, June 2, 2026. Be sure to vote or return your vote by mail ballot.
