Lee & Ian Show Podcast: A Conversation About Young People and the Future of Essex County

I recently had the opportunity to join The Lee & Ian Show Podcast for an important conversation about the issues facing young people here in New Jersey and what it means to build a future where the next generation can thrive. Plus, I was honored to be joined by fellow Essex County Commissioner candidates A’Dorian Murray-Thomas and Wilson Pichardo for a conversation focused on the experiences, challenges, and priorities of young people across our communities.

As someone who was born and raised in Essex County, I know firsthand how much this community has shaped who I am. Today, I’m running for Essex County Commissioner because I believe our generation has an important role to play in shaping the future of the county we call home.

Young people are thinking about some very real questions: Can I afford to live here? Can I find a good-paying job and build a career? Can I start a family and buy a home? Will our communities have the infrastructure, transportation, recreational opportunities, and educational resources we need? And will young people have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect our lives?

Our generation brings a different set of experiences to the table, and I believe those experiences should be part of the conversation in government. At the same time, building a stronger Essex County requires us to learn from every generation and create solutions that work for residents at every stage of life.

I'm grateful to The Lee & Ian Show for creating space for this conversation and for giving us an opportunity to talk openly about the issues that matter to the next generation of Essex County residents.
