Endorsement from the New Jersey Federation of Democratic Women

I am proud to announce that my campaign for Essex County Commissioner, District 3, has received the endorsement of the New Jersey Federation of Democratic Women (NJFDW).

This endorsement is especially meaningful because the NJFDW represents a powerful commitment to ensuring that women have a voice and a place in leadership at every level of the Democratic Party and throughout our communities. I’ve come to know their members from my time in government and politics. They are an organized comprised of dedicated women who work to support one another while advancing Democratic values through networking, community activism, civic engagement, and political participation. As part of the National Federation of Democratic Women, the organization is part of a broader movement working to encourage the full participation of women in Democratic Party leadership and political life.

Throughout my career, I have seen firsthand how much stronger our communities and institutions are when women are empowered to lead. My own path into public service has been shaped by a belief that leadership is not simply about holding a position, it is about using that position to make government work better for the people it serves.

From my work in state government to my service on the East Orange Board of Education, I have focused on bringing people together, solving problems, and creating opportunities for communities that deserve to be heard. Now, I am running for Essex County Commissioner because I believe we need leaders who understand that effective government must be accessible, accountable, and focused on the everyday needs of our residents.

The NJFDW's mission to encourage women to participate fully in Democratic Party structures and leadership is incredibly important. Women bring lived experiences, perspectives, expertise, and leadership that are essential to building stronger communities. We lead with our community in mind.

I am deeply grateful to the New Jersey Federation of Democratic Women for recognizing my leadership and supporting my campaign.

Furthermore, I am especially grateful to former Newark Councilwoman Bessie Walker for her support of my campaign from day one. She has encouraged me, empowered me, and inspired me to be bold, work hard, and bring other women with me on this incredible journey.

Their endorsement is not only an honor, it is a reminder of the responsibility that comes with being a woman in public service. I am running because women belong at the table. Women belong in leadership. And together, we can make sure our voices are heard.

I am grateful to the NJFDW for standing with me as we continue this journey.

Onward to November’s general election.
